I'm trying to make an HDR out of one RAW exposure. I'm opening it up with -2.00 exposure, as shot, and +2.00 exposure. However, when I try this, a warning box comes up saying that there is not enough Dynamic Range in the photos to construct a useful HDR.

I don't really understand this, anyone have an explaination?

You need to open up each one in CS2, create a new document then paste it in there and resave each one. Then open up those for Merge to HDR. You can also try this tutorial and get some tonemapping emulation from a single shot, I have been playing with it and it works pretty well, and best of all it is really fast.
