Do you use Nikon Capture NX with Windows XP and do you use the "Open With" command to transfer your image to Photoshop (or something else)?

If the answer is yes, check the folder /Documents and Settings/Name/Local Settings/Temp, where "name" is the logon name you are working with. Now sort this map by filetype and find the tiff files named TransferredImage_0.tif (the number -0 here- can be any number).

These files are the files that NX sents to Photoshop. Photoshop nor NX removes these files. When you save in NX it will do it on the NEF you were working on. when you save in Photoshop it will prompt you to specify a map and create a new name. Unless you do not specify a new map and name in Photoshop this is not your edited Photoshop file.

So, what you may find there, depending on your amount of transfers, are useless huge tiff files. The ones from the D70 are about 35Mb in size. So if you have transfered 100 files, it takes up roughly 3.5 Gb....
NX will never use these again and most people will save their photoshop work in other folders. You can remove them and free up some diskspace.
