I think this was brought up before but I'm not sure that anything came of it.
I'd be interested in having some way to contact people who buy my photos. About 50% of my sales have been to unknown people and I think it'd be great to be able to thank them or allow them to provide feedback. I do have my email address listed in my profile. I understand that there may be privacy issues with giving out the email addresses of buyers to sellers so I was thinking maybe there'd a way to set up an automatic response email...thanks for buying my prints, please contact me if you have any questions, etc. Is that too spammy?

How about an anonymous email like the Private Message function here? Then the buyer would actually get a reply from a real person. An automatic thank you would be okay if their name could be coded in to make it a bit more personal. Otherwise, imo, it would just be another automatic, impersonal response. When I get a non-automated email I think, "Wow, someone actually took the time to thank me in their own words." I dunno, I don't use DPCPrints, but that's just my opinion.

Other sites like eBay or Half.com do provide an anonymous email messaging service for customer follow-up. |
