about posting a pic to your portfolio and then later entering it in a challenge?
sorry if I already missed a thread on this...

You should move it to your Workshop folder until the voting is over, so people will not be able to come across it browsing your Portfolio.
If you've posted it in any threads, you might remove those references, unless the threads are completely dormant and unlikely to be revived during the voting.
You'll also have to re-upload it when you enter the challenge. |

if you put it in your portfolio before the challenge is anounced, then you can't use it anyways, as the challenge rules tend to be that your entry must be taken between the time of the challenge being anounced and the time when voting begins. you'd have to pay attention to the entry dates for your specific challenge when you look at the rule sets.

The OP may mean something like posting a picture (from) yesterday, then deciding next week to enter it in the monthly Free Study.
You are correct though, that the photo must always be taken within the specified dates to be eligible. |

If you're going to hide the photo by moving it to your workshop, remember to also blank the two gallery category dropdowns - workshop images are still browsable from the photos->galleries sections
