sounds like you might have to make the decision your self. i can't help, because i too have college questions, but hopefully others can....hmmm....what would be the benefits of getting a bachelor's? do YOU really think it's worth it? meh, anyways, goodluck!

I visited their campus when I was looking for school. I live rather close to the campus. I decided on ohio institute of photography and technology though, the portfolio's coming out of oip&t looked better. I was looking for photography though. I know we have a graphic design program too, but I don't really know anyone who is in it personaly.

You may also want to check with employers in the field you plan to go into and/or check out some want ads and find out what people are looking for and if that might be changing sometimes soon. I don't know anything about the school, though... this may be worth checking with potential employers, too, and see if they think the school produces good employees.

Education is almost always a worthwhile pursuit, and lots of studies show the more education you have the more money you make.

However, when it some to degrees in photography (or many other specialty degrees) one has to figure what they want to do in 5 or 10 years.

I think it's brookings where a degree cost $100,000. You could take that $100,000 and the four years and work for other photogs, read and study on your own, join PPA and compete in their photo contests, and in 4 years have about as much education, more experience, a PPA certification and $90,000 to start your own business. If you want to be in the portrait/wedding/PJ/sports/architectural/wildlife field this is a better plan IMO.

If you want fashion or commercial then school may help as to make any money there yo have to work in LA or NYC or other very limited markets, so connections and education can play a better role.

I can't tell how many people I know that have gone to culinary school and work at Denny's for $7hour. One was on the Today show this week - she has some book or something out, but she studied 2 years at the Cordon Bleu in Paris and ended up working for Wolf Gang Puck - impressive? No - she quiet cause she was only making $5 an hour! She had to find something else to do to pay her bills.
