| I have seen where a photog automatically had his name input as "Creator" in the IPTC (EXIF) straight from the camera as the photo is saved on the CF card. It is done very similar as the camera serial number is saved. Does anyone know how to set the camera up to do it in a 5D? |

I assume that the 5D is just like the 350 in this respect. Just use the Canon "EOS Utility" software to change the settings while the camera is plugged in USB.
That's how I did mine. |

EXIF and IPTC are completely different sets of fields. The former records the technical data regarding camera settings, the latter is to enter title, keyweords, copyright info, etc. -- used for crediting photojournalistic images by news media. IPTC is what you can edit using Photoshops "File > File Info ..." menu item, as well as with many other programs.
I believe the utility mentioned will add your name to the EXIF recorded with each exposure, but it may not affect the IPTC fields at all.

| Hummmm, just tried the canon EOS Utility, can't see where to modify the IPTC data in the camera. I'm sure it can be done. I gave a friend my CF card to take a photo with his camera and when I view the EXIF / IPTC data it shows his name as the creator. Any idea? |

Ok, I just found this on the 1D. He had the 1D so maybe it only works with it and not the 5D. Does anyone know how to make it work?
.
"IPTC Compatibility
The photographer's name as well as the shooting date and time can be appended to JPEG images every time the shutter is fired. Detailed IPTC (International Press Telecommunication Council) information can also be entered in the computer via the bundled software. In the EOS-1D and 1Ds, the IPTC data could be appended only to RAW images. With the 1Ds Mark II and 1D Mark II, the IPTC information can be appended to JPEG images instead. The embedded IPTC data is compatible with the image transfer software used by the news services. This should prove to be a substantial benefit to agencies and photojournalists because JPEGs are smaller and faster to transmit and are therefore far more likely to be used in conjunction with IPTC information."
