Ok, Firefox experts...!

In many instances, Firefox will simply ignore an image that is either missing or improperly linked on a web page. Where Internet Explorer will have the little red X icon, in many instances Firefox just ignores the missing image, showing nothing.

For a web surfer this is kinda nice, I suppose, since you're not seeing glaring errors of the web programmers. But as a web programmer, I'd rather see the red X, or some indication that I goofed up when linking an image, since it's going to show up as an error on IE.

Is there a setting somewhere in Firefox that would force some sort of error indication (like the X, or other "broken image" icon) when it comes upon a missing image?

Try setting browser.display.show_image_placeholders to true if it's set to false.

Use the Web Developer Extension and click "Find Broken Images" or "Outline Images". :p

Other than that, I like it not showing.
