Am I the last person on the planet that still prefers to write all of my appointments down in a day planner? I hate my PDA, never liked Outlook calendars, etc... I love my DayTimer and the old-school method of paper & pen. Have I become a dinosaur?

I am with you 100%
Just because all these 'calendar' programs exist doesn't mean they are better, more convenient or easier. I find my trustee black address book (about 20 yrs. old) and my day planner and the calendar that hangs on my wall more than sufficient. So easy to walk by the wall calendar and see something scribbled on the day.

I stick post-its to my monitor. If it's recurring, I'll put it in Outlook. But that's all only at work. At home it's all just memorized.

you're sure not! ... I have a huge desk size calendar that I write everything on ... transfer it to my DayTimer as necessary, but the desk calendar is my master copy ... |

I keep everything on my cell-phone's calendar, and back it up on a regular calendar. |

I have a big, giant book that I had to buy a purse so I could carry around. It has saved me more than once :)
My husband complains because one corner of it has been chewed and I won't replace it because it was Albert that chewed it :) |

an ordinary week-calender.. works best for me.
Tried my phone-schedule, but that worked for about 2 months ;) |

I work for a big corporate firm so everything is on my outlook calendar. But, for outside stuff - band gigs, kids stuff, vacations, etc., we have a monthly whiteboard calendar on the fridge that we update. It works great! |

best solution for me i've found is google calendar.
- can access it anywhere
- can give certain people access so they can see it too (eg family/friends)
- biggest plus though has to be SMS REMINDERS FREE ... thats right... you can get an sms before any events you want reminders for.
- best of all easy to use...
//calendar.google.com
yea, i know i sound like a salesman for google... but seriously... this thing is waaay better than outlook |

I organize my dates by matching women's names with the day of the week:
Monday: Monica
Tuesday: Teresa
Wednesday: Wendy
Thurdsay: Theresa (admittedly, I have to mentally adjust from Tuesday's Teresa)
Friday: Francisca
Saturday: Selena
Sunday: I take a break on Sunday
It's a little hard finding women with the right names. Luckily some parents will name all their kids with the same initial, so if one sister doesn't work out, I don't have to look far.

I use my new cell phone it as a great calendar feature in it which can remind u also of an up coming event or meeting. So when I ever I have weekly meetings at work or anytype of meeting I put in my phone so that I will remember.
I hate writing stuff down..... always lose the paper or never look at it.

I'm "required" to use various electronic calendars but I really only use the fine products from At A Glance. |

I was never able to keep a reliable calendar until I got my SmartPhone. Even PDA's didn't work for me because it was an extra thing to carry around.
Now, since I'm carrying it anyway, I'm pretty good about keeping its calendar up to date.
I'll also echo the sentiments about the GPS. I picked up the Garmin Mobile 20, which provides a bluetooth GPS receiver that doubles as a holder for the phone, and the routing software to run on the phone. I love it!

I use a program called "Remind Me" - it lets me customize a lot of stuff, pops up reminders, and synchronizes nicely with my PDA.
The only thing I wish it (or any other calendar) would do is to always show the current week at the top, i.e. always show me the 4 or 5 weeks ahead.
I don't like getting to the end of the month before I realize there is something happening at the very beginning of the next month. |
