is, traditionally, the study of means of converting information from its normal, comprehensible form into an incomprehensible format, rendering it unreadable without secret knowledge — the art of encryption.
what do you think? |
I'm not sure if I understood your sentence correctly and whether you wanted to go into that level of detail at all, but it is not the art of encryption that is secret, only the key needed to decrypt the message has to be secret.
The method used to encrypt (AES, 3DES, RSA and others) should not be secret. In fact if someone tells you of a method that has to be secret to keep your messages safe, it is a sure indicator to better not use it. |
