Does any one who has been to the Grand Canyon know anything about a three day trip they offer to a more secluded area? My friend Lance said he heard something like this was offered, but didn't know the details. He has now left it to me to research as a possible trip for us to take during the summer.

There are hundreds of companies offering Grand Canyon packages some of which include less visited areas. Can he remember anything else about the offer? Was it on or off an Indian reservation?

I don't know about a three day thing but I don't think it gets more beautiful and secluded in the canyon than havasupai falls

keep in mind as you plan that July - early early september may not be the best time for smaller canyons...... Monsoon season. not to mention how hot it is......

You could do a 23 day trip and not see a fraction of of the Grand Canyon.

Is the trip on foot, raft, mule or helicopter?

Or are you just looking for help planning a trip?

I really wish he had given me more info. All he said was that someone told him once that there was a special secluded area of the Grand Canyon that you could take a three day trip to and he decided to drop it in my lap. lol I told him I couldn't even consider this before August as I have my daughter coming for most of June, and have the Bear Sanctuary trip in July. I thought maybe if I threw it out here to those of you who have been there you might know of this 'special' place in the canyon.

Well, secluded is a relative question. I'd consider secluded in the grand canyon to be the route to royal arch, but that's a 5 day minimum backpack and not for the faint of heart.

My best guess is he's talking about the trip to phantom ranch. It's basically a bed and breakfast located at the bottom of the canyon. Not really secluded in my book though. You can hike down and back, or take a mule one way or round trip. I would suggest not hiking out unless you are in great shape and hike a lot. But anyone can ride a mule! There is a long waiting list for reservations though.

I think there is a rafting trip where you hike to the bottom and raft out, but I think that's a week long trip.

There are several rafting options, but most are 7-10 days and have very long waiting lists.

Havasupi can be done as a three day trip. You can hike or mule in and then hike, mule, or helecopter out. Beautiful area, but it's indian reservation and they don't regulate the crowd very well so it's far from secluded.

Let me know what you are looking for and I can make some suggestions.
