on the cheese challenge i got this one too - and had to laugh...

i don't know whether to laugh or cry. this is gross. i admire your effort, but am not quite sure how to reward you. yes, you are dedicated, and i'm sure you realized your vision. however, part of me simply gags at seeing this. kinda like having to change a diaper because noone else is around and you can't stand the smell anymore.

I remember that challenge, I'm sure someone was just cut& pasting that comment.

I received a DNMC on a photo in my portfolio which was never entered into a challenge.

This image is one of my personal favs because it is so different from what I normally do, but it got this comment in "The Number 10" challenge.

"I see 11 apples"

I guess he was counting the one on the bottle label:)

Good try!!
^ I loved this because it's always better to just tell the truth..damn.
Bad light, bad composition, and the subject fails to grab my attention.
once again, this just made me laugh because it shows that i suck!

It would have to be DNMC on a free study. Check the date (01/04/07)

Saw this thread and went back to see the contenders.. Is it just me or do the negative comments sting more after more time has passed... I couldn't go back more then a few pages..
The silliest comment I got was 'useless' for the last challenge I took part in.. lol! I dunno why that cracked me up.. I still marked it helpful..

I don't know that I'd call this comment "Silly", but it sure gave me a laugh.

Here's a comment I just received yesterday, on my pelican shot.

Now, have you ever seen one straight on open it's mouth and move it's sac around?

I have a shot of one and it really looks like it is swallowing a man's eh - well you know... ;)

Followed up by a link to the referenced photo.

Not sure how to interpret this one...

Don't know about the processing but the result is excellent.

Should I have taken another route to get to the same place? :-)

I'm posting my good-silly ones; the ones that made me laugh out loud with their exuberance.

Comment by posthumous: (purple challenge)
This photo is so wonderfully weird that it insists on getting a 10. You get my purple ribbon. What a face! And the weirdness of her head being yellow amidst the purple grapes. And the old-timey flavor of the high contrast. It all works together for a mind-numbing yet hilarious effect.

I had to subtract 5 of your original 12 points for silliness. Sorry about that. 7

Darn, can't find, right now, the others....

My all-time fave comment on this photo

I get scored lower cuz he thinks it's worthy of National Geographic, LMAO, I'll take that as a compliment!

"Good image and composition. Worthy of and simlar can be found in Nat'l Geographic. The fact that it can be found so readily is why I didn't rate it higher. Good work though."
