There was a prior thread that I can not find that dealt with a flash(not sure right term) that looked something like a lamp shade??????bounced light onto ceiling etc? help please, if you remember or know about this.

You might be referring to a softbox?
Take a look at this:

WARNING: This was the first on-camera softbox I could find at Adorama. My first instinct is that it's not the best... I'm only giving the link as a way to confirm thats what your looking for :) |

| thanks you two for the response, but that's not it. The one I remember was somewhat barrel shaped, approx. 5 inches or so. |
