I'm hoping someone out there knows where I can find a downloadable, or purchaseable copy of the original or compatible software for an older Minolta Dimage Dual Scan II (usb only version) film scanner. You used to be able to download the software from the Minolta site, but it is unavailable since the site has been updated to reflect the Konica/Minolta merge. I need the actual capture software and the editing software if possible.
If anyone knows where I can get this, I'd be very grateful. If anyone has this scanner and the original software that came with it, I would be willing to pay you for a copy and for the shipping to send it to me.
I know that Vuescan will work with this, but the person that I'm setting this up for isn't familiar with the Hamrick software, and wants to use the proprietary stuff. (And yes, I've tried to tell them that Vuescan will actually be better, but they ain't buying it.)
Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Well, you can lead a horse to water... ;-)
Too bad they won't consider VueScan. Best darn scanner software out there. That would have been my suggestion. Hope you have luck finding the software. Here is the driver, which you may also probably need. It looks to me like the driver is a "twain" driver, so it's possible that application slike Photoshop will be able to scan directly from the scanner via the twain driver. This may be a solution for you. |

| Thanks, kirbic. I missed that the driver was still there. Not sure what their objection is to VueScan. I use it with my Nikon film scanner and wouldn't go back to the proprietary software without being forced. This person just seems to mistrust anything that isn't proprietary. (And they are technology ignorant and adverse as well, which doesn't help.) |
