I received this email. Seeing if anyone else has. Screams SCAM to me.

Hello,
My name is John Ayinla and I will like to purchase 3 Photo prints. I saw your Advert on photographersindex.com.
Can you provide photo prints with the following details: People/lifestyle/Landscape/wildlife photography on any print i.e colour/black&white matted on 12x24, or the largest prints you have.
I am interested in purchasing any 3 of these specified. How much does each cost?
It is needed for an exhibition in Australia. Please let me know if you can provide these items, and the shipping cost for it. I will prefer FEDEX as shipping option.
I await your response soonest.
Regards,
John.

There are alot of things in there that are red flags. The main one to me is if he saw my advert at a certain site and did not go to MY site and does not send to me by name. I wrote him back with the below, to see what I get out of him. This YELLS scam at me, but I will see what he has to say first.

John,
If you have seen my advert, then I hope you have seen my website from the link.
Some questions I need you to answer...
What 3 prints are you talking about?
I can print them at 16x24 or 20x30. To what size would you want them matted to? How large of a border, what size frame, etc.?
Where is the exhibition being held in Australia?
Is money an object? Matting and shipping something of that size is not cheap.
Tracy E Clark
(my website info etc)

This is the account name that accompanied. johnayinla2@yahoo.com Uses Ikeni Productions also.
If this is DEFINITELY a scam I will add the rest of the email address.

Sounds fairly scamish to me. Interested in prints, but wants you to send examples...

They may just be interested in getting ahold of images.

Besides being on ManJam (gay website)...

another email from someone else...
A John Ayinla contacted me at my old e-mail and expressed an interest in buying and exhibiting my artwork. His name does not show on any art broker lists that I have. I asked him for his physical address, where he was exhibiting my pieces, who he is, his bio and he responded rather belligerently. I have referred him to my friend at DHS as well as my friend Jeremy Ring at Yahoo since he has a yahoo address. Beware of this individual.

big site with lots of scams listed on artists. //www.hyperborea.org/journal/archives/2006/07/05/419-artist/

I was a bit confused because my email had said he'd already contacted about prints, but I had gotten nothing before this email. Be careful! Crazy people lurking around!

Would'nt even waste my time on that, sounds like a scam.

If he wants to buy the prints and u have them posted for sale, tell him to follow procedure like any other customer. And please dont do anything like taking a cheque from him and cashing it. Because if its stolen, your bank may honour the cheque and hold u liable.

this type of thing is a perfect reason to have an account with a fullfillment site like smugmug or photoreflect or something similar. just point the inquirers to the site and let them buy what they want, if that's what they really want ;-)
