I took both of these photos at a nearby park here in Portland on the day of our freak snow - we don't tend to get snow that sticks all that often so it was a fun change for me and I rushed out to capture it for posterity.
I'd love to get some critiques/comments on these two photos:
Leaf Soup
Two of a Kind
Both were taken in Laurelhurst Park at the duck pond.
Thanks in advance!

These shots are good Sia, but I find myself wanting to see more context presenting more of the weather condition you refer to.
The ducks look good with the snow echoing their colour and are nicely composed. The leaf shot looks a little noisy and may have been improved with a more overhead angle, either quite a lot closer - creating more dynamic shapes, or much further away showing even more of the 'soup'. |

i like the colors and shapes in the Leaf soup. I especially like the bits of black peeking through - gives a nive autumny contrast to the orange leaves. Light is a bit flat, and I wish we could see the textures better, perhaps as Jon says, you could go with the flatness and go further away and get the overall pattern.
The ducks' color does echo the snow nicely, and the water ripple leading out of the corner are nice. Wish the bank had been all snow, or at least less mucky leaves, but it sounds like that is the nature of the Portland climate.
