my vote is for the C-5 The horizontal section of the tail looks like it's at the top of the tail to me, not at the body like the airbus has.

The first pic could also be the C-17 which has a high tail. What I can make out of it the width of the aircraft looks out of proportion to the length for a C-5. The second one is definetly a KC-135, the boom is faintly visible.

...I forgot, I did use a plane once, but it was a bit primitive and didn't survive the crash.

it may have been air force one, it's big enough it looks like a large military plane.

I've done my share of studying this thread...
I think you've captured the A380 en route!

Certainly not AF-1, as that's a 747, which that captured profile isn't.
It doesn't look like a C5 of any kind, nor a C-130.
When I saw the A380 profile, your image seemed to fit that.

My bet goes on the A380. The A380 was doing it's US tour, and I know it landed at LAX last Monday, 3/19, leaving on 3/20.

Cheers,

Always been fascinated with aircraft. I was wondering if it could of been the Airbus 380 but knew it was a few days before it's arrival in the US and not near JFK. Didn't look like a 747 (to me!). I guess just want to know.

Fascinated with aircraft huh...can you guess which one this is (give you a hint...it's new...well relatively)?

Taken just yesterday evening.

Well, if you want a challenge then CORRECTLY identify the aircraft in the OP.

I believe that so far you've all got it wrong and I'll give you until I can get some pics posted to correctly ID it.

Yeah I'm stumped on that one, I don't think it is the air bus though.

No takers? I'll post pics of this aircraft in ten minutes.

The correct answer is....

...The C-17 Globemaster.

- - - - - - - - -

The underside of the fuselage is super wide and the engines are long and are closer to the body than on the A-380.

I guess I came pretty close then huh?

Yes, after looking through the posts I saw that you had in fact mentioned the C-17. What threw me off though, was the reference to the KC-135 with a refueling boom in the second picture. I only saw one picture with an inset.

But, yes, you did mention the C-17.

Ya, you're right. I was playing around in PS last night with the image and you could just about make out the wing-tip stabilizer (or whatever they're called) on the left wing in the photo. C-5 doesn't have those. And it's a little more "squashed" then the C-5.

Scott, that is an AWESOME shot of the 22!!! Impecable timing there! Here's my Raptor shot, I got a little too close as it was taking off. ;-)

Why are you all wondering about the aeroplane? What about the large disk shaped object effortlessly flying near it (half way to the top of the photo)???!!!
