How does one find these people? I mean I look at dozens of sites a day and have never found one using a photo I recognized from here. Is it just luck of the draw in your regular browsing or are you using a particular search method?

Jesus, no kidding! And they are selling them, no less... "Postcards from Ghana", sheesh!

All the profit of this exhibition goes to the A&A Project. This is a project, setup for two mentally and physically disabled 8 year old twins that need constant care including medical attention. They are in this condition because of a mistake made by the hospital.

Disgusting.

To the community: Please let Lesley run with the steps I posted below, unless she asks for help. DO NOT contact the photographer on her behalf, unless she ASKS YOU TO DO SO. In order to preserve her rights, it is important the she do this, and not anyone else.

Ellen,

I would recommend any or all of the following:

1. Contact the photographer directly. He has a contact page on his web site. I'll also PM you the email address I found, and the information I found in the WHOIS record for his domain. You'd be totally within your rights to demand and attempt to enforce payment for use, even if he removes the material.

2. Contact his web host (an email to abuse@... should work) and let them know that the site, which they host, is displaying and reselling a large amount of copyrighted material without information. Be sure to provide them with proof of your claims (pointing them at the relevant DPC image pages and telling them to check the date uploaded may help). They should take down the offending material, if not the site. Remeber it's the weekend, so not much may happen there until Monday morning.

3. Contact his domain name registrar and let them know a domain name customer of theirs is using the domain name to illegally resell copyrighted material. It's possible that they'll suspend or revoke the domain name.

If there's anything I/we can do to help, please don't hesitate to contact me/us.

~Terry

I suggest the following;

1 Find out who he is and where he lives.
2 Let me know, I was a sharp shooter in my days, but this rotton criminal deserves more attention.I suggest we bring him in for some mob justice.
3 We can always push fishhooks under his fingernails and sprinkle itching powder on his balls.

The dog. may the fleas of a 1000 camels infest his armpits.

it always makes me sad when I see threads about DPC'ers work being stolen ... good luck with your fight Lesley, you've got a whole community behind you!

Should I be happy or P'ed Off? One of my pictures is also being used on the site ... and it is in the company of some of Lesley's great photographs. Luckily it is not in the postcard section. Here it is ... my photograph, and the original here. Not many guinea fowl have a piece of kikuyu grass hanging off their beak like that.

Humour aside, it is somewhat irritating. And there is no real punishment for this type of transgression. I will support whatever action Lesley decides to take.

This shouldnt be in rant we need a red flagged forum called "Someone jacked my image".

Oh Lesley! That sucks! What a f'in asshole! If you want to barrage him with hateful, punishing emails, I'm sure there are a few of us around here who will be happy to help!!
03/17/2007 11:55:18 AM · #17
I agree that this should probably be in General Discussion, if for no other reason than to remind everyone how frequently this happens. If you agree, Lesley, you could PM SC and ask for it to be moved. Maybe the itching powder on the balls post needs to be daintied up a bit first though. :)

Well phuque!!! That is unbelievable. And he has the nerve to sell it as his own. What a low life.

Let me put on my curlers, grab a cigarette and nightgown and I'll storm the guy. He won't know what hit him. ;~(

That photo caught my eye as soon as I saw it over there. Nice to know who the real photographer was that shot it. Sorry to hear about what this guy is doing to you and Goodman and whoever else he's stolen from.

I think the time has come that something must be done to either prevent any pic to be uploaded without the poster's,say, keyword.

If downloading can not be prevented, every photo clicked for download could be covered with one big red, circled C. However, my choice, a picture downloaded without permission, must be loaded with a DPC worm... turning all his files, operating system etc etc into a mess of pictures with copy right symbols.

Except in this dog's case, the minute he downloads any pic, it must explode in his savage face. Dog! Stealing my friends pics!

Surely there are some creative computer pundits out there. Go for it!
