| I want to take some group photos of me and my brother and sister for a mother's day present, but I don't want the typical cheesy family photo... Anyone have ideas or examples of something more fun than the standard family shot? I'm gonna take them in the studio since everything outside is all brown, dead, and droopy these days... |

dont go into the studio!!!!!!
live anywhere near where you can see the sunset?
my mum, brother and sister came down the beach with me to take photo's of the sunset on the beach the other week and we got some funny family pics at sunset with a flash and long exposure. dont have any family shots available now but heres one of my sister by herself so you get the idea, it was so damn fun we were falling over each other and wotnot.
try doing that in a studio!

| Oh how I wish I could do that right now... but it's about -20 celcius here and covered with snow... I'd kill for a beach and some decent weather! |

hmmm....here's my first two cents...have the three of you lying on your stomachs, all lined up going in order of oldest to youngest or your brother between you and your sis. all heads facing the camera, shoes off, and knees bent so your feet are in the air. that's just an idea though, and i don't know how it would end up working for you, or if you and your sibs are compatible of that pose. my second two cents is that you use flowers as props, if at all possible. (and i realize it's freezing over there, so just pic some up at a florist and depending on what and when, use them for a vase or give them as something extra on Mother's Day). i might return with more sets of two cents later, so prepare for more bad ideas :)

more two cents!
human pyramid?: for fun, have your bro on top grinning, while you and your sis look overly flustered on the bottom.
chairs: mess around with them. you and your sis could sit on chairs in the front, and your brother could be in the back with flowers for your mom (or just looking tough). or try it vice-versa (spelling?) you and sis standing on either side of your brother on the chair...
be back with more! (hopefully)...

I wish I had some ideas for you but if it were me I would just try and capture some good candids. When I look through my family album those are the ones that are the keepsakes. The studio shots that are in there are more for entertainment value as in OMG you so did not wear that! :P
