I don't know if anybody can help me.
I use Elements 4 for the mac. I had a few error messages pop up recently about the scratch disk being full, but then tonight, it suddenly just quit (up popped the submit report to apple box).
Unable to figure it out, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Same thing on the re-install. AGH!
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance. |

How much free space on your hard disk? |

Not so much actually - only about 3 gb. Guess that could be part of the problem? |

You should try to leave about 10% of your startup disk free so the OS can run smoothly, especially if you don't have much RAM. That could be part of the problem. |

I have a gig of RAM, trouble is my hard disk is quite small (30 gig).
I suppose I just need to keep clearing off files and then see?

OK, so that seems to have worked for the time being... I'm procrastinating on getting a mac - looks like the time is coming very soon. I bought this one before I had an SLR!
THanks for your help!

what kind of mac do you have, 30GB for a HD is pretty small.
I have 480GB (160GB x3) on my G4. maybe it's time to upgrade your HD? |

I echo the External HD issue, i have 250Gb that all photos go onto. main OS HD is left untouched.
Also be on the safe side and run a hardware test on the RAM to make sure this has not become corrupt. Slim but it can happen and did to myself, the messages and quiting was the start of my problems on the imac

A really old one! iBook G4 3 years old. I'm in the market for a new machine, just not got round to it yet. Seems now would be a good time. Although I haven't had a problem with this one until now (I upgraded the RAM about a yr ago). I keep most of my photos on cds anyway.
Thanks all for your help |
