I got KNOCKED again in this "School of Hard knocks".
Fo my last Free Study, it wasn't the one I wanted to enter. I was editing another, and frustated that I couldn't get my cropping to work and had to enter another UNEDITED shot, which is better then nothing.
WARNING/TIP: If you ever select a cropping template like 8" x 10" in PS2, it seems the only way to turn it off and the normal frame handles back is to enter zeros in the Height and Width boxes.
Is that correct? |

No. Use the dropdown box at the top where you selected "fixed aspect ratio" to make it go to 8x10 and change it back to "normal".

Are you using the cropping tool or the rectangle marquee tool?
They work a little differently from each other, and TCGuru's point applies to the rectangular marquee. It might also apply to the cropping tool, but I'm not on a computer where I can check the cropping tool. I always use the marquee.

I hope he was talking about the marquee... the cropping tool is easy, all you have to do is go hit the "clear" button that is right after the px per inch box and the "front image" button :)
Either way, now he knows about both :) |

As suggested the 'correct' way is to select "Normal" under the "Style:" pull down menu at the top when you have the Marquee tool selected in the tools pallet.
I might suggest that the idea that "... I couldn't get my cropping to work and had to enter another UNEDITED shot, which is better then nothing." is wrong. If you cannot make the image the best that it can be then it should NOT be submitted at all.
