I have recently Purchased a Lap Top Computer, for the Sole Purpose of my Photography.
I have got a problem between the colours on this system, and the One one my Home Computer.
The colours are much brighter on this system, but I done some work on some pictures i did at Wedding. Put them on a Disc and played them through my Computer upstairs and they were rediculously Bright, especially the Reds.

Is there something I havnt done, as I am using CS 2 on both !

Please Help !

Cheers.

Make sure that your colour profiles on both the Desktop PC and the Laptop are the same.

I dont know much, but i think people tend to use sRGB. Also make sure that you have both machines calibrated the same.

Also note that different programs also have different ICC profiles that can be configured, so as long as everything is configred the same way, they should all be working well together.

Edit: to add further info.

The only way to get any of it to match is to get both systems color calibrated - requires hardware to read the screen, the software then makes a profile that is loaded everytime you run the computer.

Your contrast and brightness settings can dramatically affect the color that's displayed. You can get close using adobe gamma and playing withthe controls, but some monitors/lcds are just more red than others, or the white point is different, etc.

pantone huey, eyeOne, Gretag-macbeth, or the one I use, SpyderPro2. You can probably find a simple version of the Spyder on ebay for $120. I got the pro version cause I run 2 monitors on one system and the Pro version (for $260ish) is the only model they sell that will profile dual monitors.

some systems can be used to profile your printer too.
