I'm changing my prediction. $23,999. The Hugema (300-800) is $7000.

I've got the Sigma 18-200 already, and want to add a longer lens. This sounds pretty nice.

I'd guess $35k. That thing is rediculous! |

Wondering myself what name would be given this one, after bigma and sigmonster (et al), it looks like the dpreview crowd have quickly anointed it "Godzigma". Catchy.

hopefully this will mean the price of the 120-300 f2.8 will drop into my price bracket.............NOT!
I wonder if they supply someone to carry it around for you too as well as the 2X adapter.. f2.8 is amazing.. I wonder if it is a bit soft wide open like most DG lenses and I wonder if the HSM is petrol driven..
Nice one Sigma but I'de rather buy a house.

I want one....!!!!!
As for the name, it will be named similarly to the game DOOM's BFG...this will be called:
BFL (Big !@$% Lens)
I guess there is no chance of this being under $3,000 maybe under $30,000.
But man, what I'd give for a 1D MKIII+BFL....
(child for sale...) |

For real though we need like a golf cart to mount this thing on and just drive it around. |

I've always wanted to photograph penguins in Antartica. With this lens I wouldn't even have to leave Alberta to do so. :)

Good thing it's 2.8. With no image stabalization you're gonna need those fast shutter speeds when hand holding that bad boy. |

You're gonna need a spotter when hand-holding that bad boy and a good back brace. :-)

That's what children are for. Mowing lawns, shoveling snow and holding your Sigma 200-500 2.8 lens. ;) |
