dgrin's photo challenge, a year long challenge with cash prizes on the final and semis. The only requirement is that the shooter has to be a dgrin member, which is no charge. The opening challenge is steamy or chilly.
I had the runner-up photo of the year last year, and top tenned the year before that. I'll be lucky to make the cut this time!

Yeah, no kidding. Cash prizes for photo contest are as rare as hen's teeth.

I can't follow....do we send a shot of chill or steamy in now? Is there another "subject" in two weeks that we can send another shot in?
Can the shots be edited....HDR..etc etc...

there are "stickies" in that forum with the official rules. I don't think there are photoshop restrictions like HDR. Dgrin is the companion forum for smugmug.com, so they have very carefully put this program together after running 85 challenges over the last few years with gift cert type prizes. Smugmug is very successful, so I doubt there will be any problems.
They do a lot of cool stuff. I'm going to a landscape workshop in Glacier National Park next September, and the cost per participant including lodging, instruction and some meals is $300ish! Two top instructors. They've had GTGs at Yosemite and Bryce for shoots too.
There are 2 weeks in their challenges, they go from Monday noon EST. You put your photo in their thread, with exif info.

| A very, very, very clever domain name considering the show "last comic standing". If a TV show every decided to do a last photographer standing reality show the value of his domain name will go through the roof. |
