i read a super helpful thread about extrating an image with the "extract" tool in photoshop and getting all the hair to go with it
unfortunately i can't find the thread or the link that was provided in it that lead to the tutorial
everytime i try to use the extract tool, the "preview" button never works
do i need to duplicate the layer?
help! hehe

When you use the Extract tool, after you have outlined the extraction area, are you using the fill tool ?
As an addition, in the tols menu on the extact screen, select Smart extract where there is a clear defined contrast between subject and background. This help make a cleaner extract.
