I've only had 1 problem as a buyer. Seller sent me item that did not work. I let the seller know and he sent me an address to ship back to. I sent the item back and seller claimed they never got it. I filed a claim with paypal and they sided with the seller. So I lost my $25. Then tried to leave a negative feedback and the site kept timing out. I was never able to leave the neg feedback. Big-time seller making money for ebay, so of course they would take his side and conveniently make it impossible for him to not get a neg. Damn big corporations!

Personally I think ebay is not what it used to be. It used to be great for bargains. Not anymore. Nowadays, Amazon is where I go.

I've been saying the same thing. Use to love eBay as a buyer and a seller. In the time I've had an account I've also purchased lots of electronic equipment, cameras and gear, clothing, collectibles, and one car. Now, unless you are talking about collectibles, you don't seem to get as good of a deal buying as you used to, and you have to be much more concerned and careful about fraud. Also as a seller (just of the online yard sale variety), the benefit to hassle ratio is much less favorable than it used to be. For the first 5 years I was on eBay I never had a problem with a sale and the buyers were very nice, respectful and honest. Last few batches of sales I've had have been incredibly frustrating with rude, abusive, and just clueless buyers who pay slow (or don't pay at all).

My use of eBay has gone way down (both buying and selling). I'm still using it, but I'm a lot more cautious and hesitant than I used to be.
