While much discussion has been made about whiterook's photographic technique, I have new respect for this master which is demonstrated in the following screen capture. Brilliant. Defies the laws of statistics as I know it, however he may be operating at a higher level.
I have just added him to my favorite photographer list! |

I wonder if he gets pissed off at people making fun of him all the time. |

When one of your goals is to "get more last place finished" I don't think you can hold it against anyone for making fun of you. |

Whiterook obviously must understand all the principles of photography and art to accomplish his browns. The same things others must master to yellow, green, and blue. What if he decides to go to the light side of the force?
Be afraid. Very afraid. heheheheheheheheh

I can assure you from personal knowledge he isn't upset at "people making fun of him", as far as I can see, and he is secure in his pursuit of his own, distinctive vision. He's sort of a classic example of Thoreau's maxim:
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."

This one is in my favs, fir3bird summed up everything amazing in this image. It is really full of alot of stuff if you slow down to look at it. Included in the photo itself, two white rooks clearly in focus despite the title of the photo.
Originally posted by fir3bird: Spectacular. I'd forgotten to look at the brown til I saw the disqualification by DeSousa. This is bad in so many ways that it is truly a masterpiece. From the smudges and streaks on the wall, to the impossible position of two white bishops both occupying white squares....... man! The talent. Even Salvador Dali would be impressed. The matrix that holds the entirety of your work is even warped! Even a Hitchcockian appearance of your own moniker in the work. When I see your work I wonder why I even try to increase my scores and maybe win a ribbon. But then I realize that to be truly brown is a rare talent.
I could never make the cut. You're not one of those timid souls who fears scrutiny. This image was a perfect 640x480. Full sized. Right in their face. No small 160xWhatever for you. Even down to the technicals it's perfectly bad. F 3.8, it almost matches the score. Whoever heard of an F3.8? Wow. I'm glad I got to see this. I can tell my grandchildren that I knew you before your portfolio toured the country, and the world. My hats off to you. Well, anyway, if I had a hat. (oh yeah, I noticed the slightly whiter pawn at king 3 and the knight beside it. Man!) |
Every one of his challenge entries has atleast 230 views after voting and all but two of his entries have atleast 10 comments and half of his entries have over 20 comments. Impressive, a most distinctive body of work. |
