May i address the following rule in basic editing:

*YOU MAY
- add a border to the outside edge of your entry. Your border must be distinct and clearly recognizable as a border.

What is classed as the outside edge ? Is this?

Image 1

or this

Image 2?

I would be interested in hearing your opinions. I dont want people to feel i am being petty, however it is important that the rules are clear and consise in thier meaning.

Edit: I made the borders black instead of white for clarity.

Both are around the outside edge. The point of that rule was to prevent people from dividing a shot into a diptych or triptych with a "border" running though the image.

How could #2 be DQ'ed? That's a basic border that almost everyone uses. I wouldn't consider #1 to be a border along the outside edge but apparently the rules allow that type of border as well.

I was responding to Techo but he deleted his message, probably realized he was wrong. ;)

At first it appeared to me like image2 didnt have any border for some reason. must be my eyes. Sorry for the confusion.

The poster probably considered his post redundant after you edited your samples (white > black border illustration).

See, now we've got another redundant post. :-/
