On the front page of DPC there is some Javascript which is trying to be loaded from the following lines in the source:



I don't know if that URL ever works, but I'm pretty sure it has always timed out for me. The problem is that while it's being attempted it delays the front page of DPC from loading. Could that Javascript be mirrored on DPC's servers, or, since it rarely loads, maybe it isn't even useful enough to keep?

Ive been experiencing the front page slow down also this morning.

I thought it was me. But I switched to my back up ISP and the problem persists.

its slow here also, I thought I reached my bandwidth limit at work for today.

But it does look like its getting a bit faster

mine was slow also, but seems to be fine now.

For those using Proxomitron, a quick filter gets rid of the offending HTML nicely. :) (I also use Proxo to remove all the user signatures in the forums; a forum search should reveal the filter for that).
