Well I don´t want to get into any details but tonight something happened that seriously made me question whether I want to be a part of the DPC community so I am going to take a month or two break from this site to reevaluate if I want to continue hanging out here or not.

I am not starting this thread to get any sympathy or "please come back Larus" or anything like that, I think most of you couldn´t care less if I was gone, just wanted to leave at least a small note why I won´t be seen here for a while, will probably only submit to the free studies as I find it likely I´ll be back after the break and want to try and keep to my goals I set for myself for 2007.

L8ter...

Updated the 4th of april.

Sorry for the "false alarm" or what you want to call it but my WPL teammates convinced me to keep submitting for the remainder of the 4th season and now it´s over so NOW I´ll take a month or two off DPC, will stop shooting specifically for DPC, I might let an entry slide once or twice if I have one that will fit and I´ll enter the free studies and update my picture a week thread. I´ll be "back" when I start to miss this site but right now I have had it up to -> here after being in more than a challenge a week on average for more than a year now.

See you hopefully in the summertime!

Larus, as requested I won't give you any sympathy or "please come back" comments. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. But I will say good luck to you in your ventures, and keep shooting. We'll see you on the flipside... hopefully. Take care.

Bummer man, I love your work, would hate to not have it and you around.

There I said it...

Hope things work themselves out and if not, good luck in your future ventures.

As Marc said you needs to do what you needs to do.

Peace brother.

I think you underestimate your esteem here. You'll definitely be missed.

I completely understand! Believe me, I have had the same feelings. Just want you to know that you are one of the reasons I frequent here. So, I hope your hiatus is temporary.

There are a lot of nasty, rude, crude people here. It's a microcosm of society, unfortunately. I don't have an easy answer. When the rude, crude crowd prevails, it causes a phenomenon called "anti-selection".... a situation where those who can go elsewhere...simply go. And, the bad people remain. So, it's time for the SC to rein in the nasty.... to encourage the best artists to continue to participate. And, I'm not talking about me.... I'm talking about Larus being one of the best.

No kidding. There's just a handful of photographers on this site that truly inspire me and he's one of them.

Whatever it was, it must have really sucked because you just got caught up on your schedule it looked like.

Public apology

I´m baaaaaaack! (who missed me?)

Take a deep breath, and come back soon - you have some nice stuff!

Good luck with your new focus - I too hope that you'll be back refreshed (but not too refreshed - give us a chance!) soon. Remember that for every irritating member, there are quite a few more reasonable ones, even if they are sometimes a little quieter.

Cheers!

Ahhhh F***!
Like Yanko said, you're one in a small group that I truly admire and sadly, that group seems to be gradually diminishing. It is supposed to be enjoyable here and we shouldn't have to grow a thicker skin. Not here.
Good luck!

Larus, even though we've never met or even exchanged emails, I'm going to miss you around here. You are truly a talented individual and this site will suffer in your absence. I've enjoyed seeing your inspiring shots, and hopefully someday soon we will be able to enjoy them again. Good luck in whatever you do.

Later,

Steve

Totally understandable, Larus.

Is there a place where we would be able to view your recent work while you are away?

Hope all is well,
Lee

Was it the over sharpening...too much Neat Image? Saturation levels???

Sounds like you got a bummer of a PM or something. My guess?

Hope whatever it was, wasn't too bad.

Cheers to you!

Well usually people get the wrong idea if you're not wearing any pants.

Are you talking from experience Richard? Does that explain the red face?
