i dont know why but i havent been entering high scoring shots lately. i dont know why, im stuck in the low 5's and i dont like it :(
i just dont get why im unable to produce i high scorign image at this point. im mad at myself. It feels like im almost not up to par really with anyone on here anymore.
i think i might take a break from dpc but i know i really dont want to but it might be best. grrrrrrrrr

You're young, you've done 25 challenges. Nobody wins all the time. :) Seriously, we hang here as much for the community as the photography. I hope you will too.

yeah i just hate watching these scores roll in and get disappointed. I know im young and i know im new here, i guess i except too much from myself at times.
i always look at your page and others and see how your always getting higher scores and i guess i kinda just compare myself and shoot myself in the foot pretty much.

its just a phase, ill get through it .
and i do use the forums alot more than anything else on this site, i guess ill never leave. forums are too addictive

I know I'm still new here, but I've dabbled in a lot of different disciplines. Sudden suckitude is generally a good sign that you're learning something and while you're learning, you suck. If you stick with it, you come out the other end awesome.

Or you need a break.

One of those.

A) Turn off scores. Works really well to prevent the blahs.
B) Suck isn't always a bad thing (says a proud member of Team Suck. Thankyouverymuch.)

That is all. :)

Do what you want to do - don't take a break if you don't really want to.

FWIW, I think that your recent entries have been good, and technically very competent, but not as inspired as your highest scoring shots - maybe you need to get back to arresting imagery that has an interesting relationship with the challenge (harder to do than to say...!).

If I might say, you have some great foreground subjects, but sometimes you pay much less attention to the background: the trucks in your street photography image, the unironed sheet in the DJ shot, blown reds in your love shot (and as you say yourself - that shot doesn't have your usual technicals).

Good luck with your next few entries!

First of all dont worry about scores. Just take photos that YOU enjoy. I have looked at some of your portfolio and you have a lot of talent. Relax and enjoy your photography.
