you can setup a computer to take the photos every 5 minutes right? Is the idea to capture the same scene at that interval? It would be cool even just shooting out a window.

Ok for those of you willing to do it....how about Friday and Saturday March 2 and 3 rd (you can choose which day or do both) Challenge yourself to the time you feel is right for you (every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1/2 hour or hour) Then on Sunday March 4th we will post some of our best for critique. Sound good?

The magazine challenge states....we improve as photographers by forcing ourselves to shoot; by finding the photograph when there doesn't seem to be one; by studying the light-every kind of light we encounter-and seeing the photo potential in it. Capturing a great image of Angelina Jolie nder soft box is easy. But how about that candy wrapper in the gutter? Can you still make an outstanding photograph when the subject and conditions arn't perfect?
This challenge really got me thinking. I want to expand as a photographer and learn more about myself at the same time. Its going to be a very intense 24 hours...but hey maybe a little fun too!
Join in if you are up for a challenge.

I would say that the time for the taking of the images for this side challenge is over.

Then I guess you win by default, since you were the only one to post images within the 24 hrs, Greetmir.

That is too bad ... I would have expected the presenter of the challenge to at least participate.

when you go in to post, you click the third box from the left, insert image, then enter the url. if you have the pics saved in your portfolio on dp, you can insert thumbnails by clicking the 5th box from the left, insert image from site. on this one, you just enter in the number assigned your photo by dpchallenge from your portfolio, and it will insert a thumbnail and link to the full photo :) hope this helps and hope you had fun, i came across the same article a month ago, too bad i found this thread too late, i would have liked to tried it out :)

You did a great job! I love the variety and the the lunar shots were amazing. You make me wish I could be there instead of here....you are getting flowers and we are getting a blizzard! Did you find this challenge fun? It got a little hectic at times but it really made me slow down and start looking at my surroundings. I really like the composition of your bus shot too. Thanks for being the only one to do the challenge with me!

Jamie,
I love the shallow depth of field in the bird picture. I also love the "Nose Picker", how funny. Where were you for the animal pictures? How many pictures did you end up with in a 24 hour period? Great job on the ones you posted. I don't see anything you really would have had to do to edit them. Good shooting!

I just LOVE the Richards' home site. It makes me feel like a next door neighbour. Well done!

Jamie ... can I play with your Panama Beach photo in Photoshop?

If you like the results you could send me the higher res image and I could do the same only better ...

I took over 300 photos in just one place on Saturday and Sunday about the same. These are my favorite without editing, so I posted these. I went to Zoo World in Panama City Beach. It was really hard to get pictures there, because all of the animals were in cages. I have a few more that I might post after editing.

Greetmir, I love this one:

I think you could make some bucks on this one. I would love to have a photo like this, nice work

Thanks Greetmir! Had to post it since I couldn't figure out how to get my pictures here! (The computer and I don't always get along!) Can't wait to see what you do with the Panama beach picture. post it when you are done with it...I would love to see it too.

...

OK ... I did a very quick edit ... It is not worth spending a LOT of time on a small 640 X and you will not see it anywhere near as good as it could be but I think you get the idea of the potential that I saw in this photo when I first saw it and why I asked to play with it ... :)
