Suppose a challenge has just finished, and I want to browse all the images of that challenge, one by one. It would be of immense help, if 'NEXT IMAGE" button is available.
This is what I am missing a lot!

that would be nice until then you may want to check out this thread. You will notice this link MOD PAGE and on there you will find a DPC results slide show. I haven't tried it for myself so I can't vouch for it but the others I've tried work great.

Good luck;

What version of firefox do you use, and have you installed the Greasemonkey?

kbhatia1967, I was going to make this same suggestion. To reiterate:

After a challenge has finished, it would be great to be able to browse the full-sized entries with standard <--previous & next--> buttons, rather than have to return to the Results Page and click on thumbnails for every photo.

I agree!

Various versions of "next" and "previous" have been suggested over time. I think I created a similar thread about 6 months ago.

It's so obvious an enhacement that there has to be a reason it's not available.

Maybe Langdon's busy with, you know, real life. :) Or maybe he's busy going out with all of the women he got for his birthday.

Yes, I figure it is one of those enhancements that is much easier to imagine than to implement, but worth mentioning again anyway.

The biggest problem with "next image" is that it can mean a lot of different things, depnding on how the user browsed in to the image. In other words, do you want the next image in the...

challenge results?
user's challenge history (if so, how was it sorted)?
users's portfolio listing in their profile (if so, how was it sorted)?
portfolio folder?
gallery (if the image is in two, which one)?
user's favorites list?
recently added favorites?
most favorited images?
most commented on images?

I could go on, but you probably get the idea...

Terry, I've seen this answered in many different ways. Someone on one of the older threads even provided a mockup.

For starters, there could be a "next" and "previous" button to the right of the placement line within the challenge. So if it landed at #56, previous would go to #55 and next would go to #57.

You could also put them right under the photographer's name and label them to eliminate confusion: "next in this challenge" and "previous in this challenge."

To browse within a collection, you could put buttons to the right of the collection name. This site puts some links in black, for crying out loud; if people can figure THAT out, they can figure out how the buttons work.

You don't need the perfect solution to every possible problem before implementing a solution to at least a few of them.
