So we become a world of paparazzi?* Also reminds me of the nightclub photographers you see in some old movies ...

Those don't really answer my question, but ok, I'll take them. :) |

I haven't worked with them -- my comment is based on their home page and the "Learn More" link. I think it might work if you want to freelance at birthday parties and such, and use these folks as the order-fulfillment service.
I'd feel kind of funny if someone came up to me in a park or restaurant and told me they'd just taken some cool photos of me and my group and gave me a card to buy some prints.
Their hypothetical figures sound pretty optimistic. I'm trying to imaging taking 100 "decent" photos of strangers every week, and making contact and giving them a card. That sounds like a lot of work on spec.
But then again, for energetic extroverted photographers who hang out at a lot of public places where people want to be seen, it might work. |

Yes, I agree it would feel weird if someone came to me like that. The way I thought of it was if i saw someone in a tourist place without a camera, I could ask them if they wanted a picture taken, but I definately would never take the picture before and then tell them.
Although, being pretty shy myself, I don't think I'll ever do that.:) |

Reminds me of the tourist parks like Disneyland, Universal Studios, etc. They have photographers all over the park taking pictures all day long and you can go to a booth to buy them if you'd like...
