I have finally decided to take the plunge and invest in a DSLR, and after some research I have been leaning towards the 300D. Now, here's the question - I'm undecided on which lens(es) to accompany it. There are a couple of package-deals online (with the standard Sigma 28-200mm and 100-300mm lenses), but I've always been wary of those sorts of deals. For those of you out there who have the 300D, what would you recommend? Although I'm not TERRIBLY concerned with price, I'm looking for something reasonable.
...oh yeah...this would probably help...I am an avid amateur 35mm photographer, mostly interested in travel/outdoor photography and continuing my hobby into the digital world.
Thanks in advance! |

I went for Sigma 70-300mm. I still think I made a good choice.

Also check out this thread about lenses for the EF mount:

For the moment I am staying with the lens lineup I listed there, just waiting* for a new Canon body**. :)
If I had to choose one lens, it would either be a Canon 28-135 F3.5-F5.6 IS USM or a EF 35mm F2 prime. But do check the thread, a lot of info on lenses.
* The 602 will do for the winter
** No 300D because of certain limitations, curious about the next Canon models and their price
