....and noticed when posting in threads that misspelled words are underlined in red.

However, I can not find the correction tool to help this poor speller correct my imperfections.

Is there a trick I am missing.....?

Is there a tool somewhere I am missing...?

Am I the only one with this red line thingy, taunting my every move of the key board....?

Or, is it just some flashback from my younger days of experimentation?

Thoughts?

I get the same thing, you just have to right click over the word that's underlined and it will give you options.. i don't know about a specific spell checker in the program yet :)

the spell checker is a new part of firefox.

as you type, words that it doesn't recognise are underlined in red. if you right click the word, it'll give you the options to correct the word or add it to your dictionary.

Heh even though most major forum software comes with or has spell checking plugins. Langdon and Drewmedia didn't exactly pluck this bad boy off the shelf handwriting it leaves you with a quality and customized site. But lacks certain other things. Im glad about it i have terrible spelling... too bad it doesn't have a grammar check.

If you go to "about:config" in your browser you can set
layout.spellcheckDefault = 2
turns on Firefox 2's spell-checking in input fields as well as textareas. (That means no more typos in post headlines!)

edit:
Of course, if it annoys you set that to 0 to turn it off entirely.

It's hard to read your posts with the bad grammar, but I can say I prefer the built-in spell check of firefox since it doesn't require an additional step of clicking a spell check button that other "off the shelf" forum software utilizes.

They shouldn't be using the internet. They should be at work! ;-) Not only that, but they should look for a new job as that company is behind the times.

Heh well youll find that anythign but a Ferrari dealership is. But behind what times? The only thing we could do is upgrade the browser on the boot image. Win2000 is better in the work environment then XP is. (we do have 3 terminals running XP... and it doesnt help us any).

We use alot of Dealer2Dealer connection sites that run purley from ActiveX, which requires IE or Opera.
