A friend of mine was using airline points about to expire and he gave me a bunch of subscriptions.
But some of them, I actually don't want, and I don't want to hurt the environment wasting paper.
I have a few, but let's start with this one:
"W" Magazine - It's a monthly huge, fashion magazine. It has some pretty nice fashion photography in it, so someone into that might want it.
If you are interested, you need to PM me with your mailing address, and it must be in the USA. The first one to PM me a working US address gets the subscription.
It expires January 08 (I think it's monthly), so you'd have 10 more issues.

Ok, it's given away.
Next on the block: Daily Variety magazine. This is a daily magazine about the entertainment industry. The annual print subscription is worth $165. It's free to the first person to PM me their name and mailing address.
I don't see how to change the address on the website, except by emailing them, so I might just submit it as an address change (which means you'll get it with my name on it). That way, they're less likely to say no (I'm assuming you can't transfer a subscription, but you can definitely make an address change. |

Just an idea, but do you have a free clinic, shelter, seniors' home, something of the type in the area that might like them? You could always change the address to theirs if they do :) |

you should tell your friend that if he doesn't want his airline points he should donate them to charity. all airline companies have that option in their frequent flyer miles programs.
but i think beecee's idea is good ... if you're concerned about wasting them, donate the subscription to a local nursing home or place where they could really get some good use out of it! :)

Thanks for the suggestions. His points were expiring that day, so he dumped them all into magazines.
My other option is just to cancel the subscription if no one wants "Daily Variety" (so far unclaimed).

Ok, I'll bump this, but I'm waiting for you to announce one on "travel" since I get to do so little of that. :) |

Actually, I might have one. He got me about 12 magazines...not all have come yet. |

Nowhere else but DPC to dispose of 'em? That's a shame :(
I'd take it and pass it on myself except that I'm not in the US. |
