Have you ever posted un-editted photograph for a challenge entry? (Except, of course Image size and SFW).
Is it necessary to edit ALL digital images? |

I say yes. Never entered an un-edited photo for a challenge, except for the minimal editing rules. |

Because I always shoot RAW then editting is ALWAYS needed. Raw files are deliberately flat and unsharpenned to allow the 'artist' to apply his own post processing as opposed to having them imposed by the camera.
Shoot jpeg and accept the restricted processing applied by the camera and you may well get away with posting unprocessed images.
