i was a huge fan of it since the initial beta came out for mac way back when, however i've decided to go with aperture. my reasons are that i have found aperture's library management is more powerful and intuitive. lightroom does a better job with image manipulation and corrections, however for serious work I would use photoshop, so I decided that the best library management tool was most beneficial. I will miss many of the features in it, though, and thus my fingers are crossed for aperture v2.0.

I havent tried it yet cause I'm using Adobe Bridge with the raw plugin and it works good for me. What's the advantage of using Lightroom over Bridge??

It's after March that the beta expires, so you only have 6 more days. BTW there's already a thread on this.

What advantages does this program have over CS2 exactly? ... I am not sure I understand the expense ... (or bother) if one already has CS2.

If you used it youd know.

Imagine if you had a dedicated set f tools to edit the raw in a raw form. No Camera Raw plugin interface, No converting it to a Tiff or whatever.

Dedicated white balance tools not just a slider and a drop down but 10 sliders. Pages upon pages of tools all specific to editing the image in its purist form.

If you used the beta ud understand.

I HAVE ABSOLUTLY NO CLUE HOW TO PROPERLY EXPLAIN IT!

Camera raw gives u what 15 options to change things plus 40 more tools in photoshop itself.... but did u get ur Color temperature right? Need to open Camera Raw and start over?

NOT IN LIGHTROOM just grab one of the 100's of tool u have at hand.

That and its like bridge thumbnailer inside it already.

I received an email from Adobe for my free download for Lightroom a couple hours ago. Those that have paid for RSE Premium gets a free copy of Lightroom.

What types of improvements would there be compared to RSE and Photoshop 7 which are the 2 programs I currently use?
