A baby born after less than 22 weeks in the womb went home from the hospital today.

You can see a photo of the baby beside a ball point pen. The baby is only a little longer and the child's legs appear to even be smaller than the pen.
It's just mind-blowing when you think about...what has become "viable". I often wonder how far away are we from artificial wombs that will be able to support a developing infant even earlier?
I think in part, it's one of the reasons I have a tough struggle with the arguments of non-viability with regards to the abortion debate. Because I believe at some point we will reach a technologically advanced state where there will be viability at any stage of development.
