I am about to switch to Mac and was wondering how Aperture runs on a MacBook. From what I have read, the MacBook Pro may not even have the juice for it. I am beginning to think I should get the MacBook for small editing and organizing photos for now and buying a Mac Pro desktop this summer for serious editing. I just sold my Dell Inspiron that I payed 2500.00 for less than a year ago, because of performance issues and I would like to avoid that happening again. I realize that technology is obsolete soon after it comes out, but just wanted some advice from Mac users. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

A current macbook pro is the cream of the apple laptop crop if it cant run it then apple wouldnt be making a dime off that expensive ass thang. I dont have a Mac Book Pro but ive been looking since my next laptop might be running OS-X. I would be loking to run aperature.

Is Aperature in X86 yet or is it still a universal binary?

I have a MacBook Pro, I love it and believe that it has plenty of juice to run Aperature. I have the 15" with 2 gb memory and 120 hard drive and wouldnt get anything else, maybe a 17" screen but 15" is better for me being in college. I think you would be dissapointed with the screen size of the MacBook if your getting it for photo editing. But i had a Dell and recently got with and will never go back to PC.
