O.K. I sent in a photo for the 'trees' challenge. But my fingers got so itchy to edit it, that I went and did edit it the way I would've if it wasn't a minimal editing challenge. I uploaded the edited version in my portfolio and marked it as 'hidden' Then I put a thumb in my explanation of the entry of how the photo would've looked like if I were able to edit.
Will the thumb show up after voting? And people definately can't see the edited version? Or should I wait until voting is done?

waiting is probably safe..

It should be fine the way you did it. Just remember to "unhide" it after the challenge!

'Hiding' it should work. Also, you can always put things in your 'workshop' folder, which can not be seen publicly unless you link it.

... what taterbug said ... you can always move it very quickly and easily from your workshop folder to one of your other folders after the voting ...

What taterbug said. I often stick my outtakes in my workshop folder and then add the link to my challenge description. That way right after rollover the outtakes are visible as a clickable thumb in my description without me having to be up to unhide or move pics around.

Edit - Sounds like I didnt read very far into this thread now doesnt it. ;)

uhh, do I get this right? if I move it to workshop and post a thumb to the photo in my entry description, it will show right away when voting is over?

Yes - just enter it as you would in a forum thread - [thumb]insert#[/thumb]. You dont have to hide eit or anything as long as its in your workshop. Noone would be able to access that pic earlier unless they have the image number. I guess someone could start trying out numbers and come across it by accident - but if they are that hungry to see a hidden pic then let em at it.

Ayup ... of course ... people cannot see the description in your entry until the voting is over but CAN immediately after it is ... so a link (thumb) in the description of your entry can be seen and followed (even to your workshop folder) immediately after the rollover. (IF they go to your entry photo and get the thumb link from there, but it will never be seen in your regular portfolio while it is in the workshop folder)

P.S. You can even MOVE the outake photo to another folder after the voting and because it keeps the same image #, it will still be valid but viewable also in your portfolio.
