I am thinking of uprading from PS6 to Photoshop CS2 Upgrade for Windows. In your opinion is the upgrade worth the investment? Thanks for the advice.

I think I would wait for cs3. you should be able to beta test it right now for free and see. I love cs2 but some of the things they added to cs3 are very nice IMO.

When you do upgrade, assumeing you are, if you know a student, or are one yourself, get the educational version.

Educational version you ask?

My responce..."Hellll yeahhhh!"

There is no fundamental differance between an educational version, or a full version.

The differance?

At least $300.

I think it depends on your computer, hardware and operating system. For instance, I am running Windows 2000 SP4 on several machines, so an upgrade to CS2 or CS3 perhaps does not make sense until I upgrade the hardware....

PS 6 to CS2 is a huge difference, but as previously posted, it's more resource intensive as well, so if your computer hardware is old, you may want to think twice. You should be able to upgrade from 6.0 to CS2 for $169 USD.
CS3 will be out in March, 2007. AFAIK, you will not be able to directly upgrade from 6.0 to CS3. If you are a student and can purchase the educational version, you may be best off going that route. You'd be looking at about $269 USD.

There is a deal right now where you can upgrade from anything to PS CS2 for $299. It is best to order over the phone. It is not a student discount, just a good price, I think it is ending soon. I love cs2 so far.
