Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

I've wanted the fisheye for a long time.... but on further investigation I found that the wide angle is close to the same price.....

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Anyone had experience/comparison with both lenses?

I'd say, go for the 10-22mm. You'll love it!

The fisheye doesn't work as well on the 1.6x crop as you'd expect. I love it on the 5D, but not so much on the 20D. And there's only so many times that you really want a "fisheye look" anyway. So the 10-22 will be much more versatile.

Do you have a place that rents lenses near you? Here in Salt Lake I can rent the fisheye for about $15 a day. So I'll sometimes rent the fisheye for a wedding or something specific.

I can't speak for the Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye, but I LOVE my Canon 10-22! It rocks! It has a little fisheye at the 10 end but its not real bad. Just my thought.

It also depends on what you are shooting. I like to shoot landscape so I went with the 10-22.

guess I'll have to upgrade to the 5D camera too ;oP LOL

Can you get the fisheye effect with the 10-22...

Maybe I'll rent them both and decide that way... Thanks for the input!

i havent used the 15mm but the the 10-22 is brilliant that 10mm is just awesome to have. there is some distortion at 10mm but wouldnt consider it to be fisheye. I sold mine to nixter after the upgrade.

(if you are thinking about the 5d in the future i would go for the 15mm or 17-40f4L)
