Someone who's short presence in my life was unexpectedly terminated, left nothing but a swept floor and a note. The note read: What is beauty.
I didn't know what beauty was. I was young then.
I carried this note with me for years, a decade perhaps, until the paper it was written on became tattered with the ink so pale, the words were beginning to fade.
I realized, quite suddenly, how transient everything is and how things cohere: the image I held of my friend was sharp and vivid, the words he wrote were faint, at best.
This was the day I understood that truth is beauty and beauty truth.
If you see him, please tell him that I have received his note and that I will act on the matter immediately. |

Zeus, i say this with all the respect i can muster for someone I've never met (which incidentally is quite a bit): you are a trip, man. I'm glad you're here. :)

| throw a twist into it and make the challenge beauty but can not be a person or flower. Would make it very interesting and would also make everyone think a little. |

There are some ugly people and flowers too. Beauty is subjective.

as subjective as it may seem the first two ideas most people would have is a beautiful woman and then a flower, so make everyone think past those. |
