i recently went to st. louis to shoot for a concert, and went to the st. louis arch. somehow, from the time we went to the arch and then to the concert, i must have formatted the wrong card and it had all my great pictures from the trip to the arch, which kills me. first and probably last i'll ever get to go, and the pictures were amazing.

my question, what do you all use to recover, and is it even worth trying. i don't know which card it was on, so i'll have to run it on both cards, but i havn't formatted since the trip.

they are Sandisk Extreme III cards, and they came w/ a rescue pro or something but i can't find these disks for anything, so i'm looking for something quick, so i can get the pics and then format these cards.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks so much

As long as you haven't taken any more shots on the card the images should be recoverable.

There is some free software and some with trial versions available. Searching in google should bring up a view. Maybe even a rescue pro trial. Rescue pro works.

Bear_Music recommended this software for me once.

Photo Recovery

I have had exceptionally good luck using this when the Lexar software found nothing.

As long as you haven't formatted the cards I think you should be able to get some if not all of them back.

Good luck!

that's the problem, i think i formatted it while rushing thinking it was the other one (dark venue) and then took the concert photos.

grrr sucks

Reformatting doesn't make the card unrecoverable, however, writing new data to the card will. If the card isn't full though, you may be able to recover a few of the original images.

Good luck.

It's probably worth trying anyway. I certainly had some images come back from a previous shoot even though I had formatted the card and reshot the whole card. Give it a go - you never know!
