Sculpture garden is great for me.
I'm thinking Minnehaha Falls should be flowing pretty good, but I think we are too early in the spring for much else to be going on around there.
I was wondering about going up to the observation deck of Foshay Tower, or IDS building if its still open. Probably needs a clear day. I haven't come up with any other good indoor locations. Will ask around.

Anyone think of any other inside locations?
Como Park Conservatory is good.
I don't have any great ideas.

Well the time is near approaching, and with the cold weather and all, I recommend we meet at location 2.) The como zoo conservatory, lets say 10 AM on the front steps. I will hold the silly "DPC'ers here" sign. LOL.

We can decide as a group where to venture to next after that, maybe the weather will warm a little and we can do some outdoor shooting.
I personally, being here a mere 16 years, have not yet been to the sculpture garden and think that would be fun. However, I can go there anytime.
Anyway, we will keep our options open.

10am sounds good to me. There isn't a whole lot to shoot at the sculpture garden other than that spoon with a cherry on it, and 34 isn't that bad to be outside for a little while. I would still be interested in doing Minnehaha falls since I've never been there. If anyone wants to exchange cell numbers, PM me.

Minnehaha falls should be OK. The falls are close to the parking lot.
You can shoot from above or below. There are a lot of steps down and we just have to hope they are not covered in sheet ice.
I tried to get info on observation decks downtown, not much luck.
Foshay tower might charge admission, and I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone.
See you soon.

Hi all,
Havn't been part of the recent discussions, I was out of town for a while and just lost track. Thanks to JOhn for the PM. I am going to try and come to the group meeting tomorrow, still have a bit of uncertaintly though, my son is heading back to college tomorrow so I'm not sure of the timing. Any of the sites is ok to me, I've not been to any of them :-)

Hello to all the DPC people I spoke with today. I found the internet site and am slowly working my way through all the options. I thought I would list some of my favorite places for taking photos so all those who didn't hear would be able to visit them if interested.
- Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, just west of Chanhassen on Highway 5
- Lake Harriet Rose Garden and Peace Garden, North side of Lake Harriet
- Noeremberg Gardens, North side of Lake Minnetonka
- Richard Anderson Park, Eden Prairie on Highway 212
- Crex Meadows in Wisconsin, great for migrating cranes in the fall
- Pot Holes State Park on the St. Croix River in Taylors Falls
- Munsinger / Clemens Gardens along the Mississippi River in St. Cloud
- Minneapolis Institute of Art, just East of Nicollet Ave on 24th St.
I enjoyed talking with you and wish I would have tagged along sooner. I look forward to seeing you around town and on more outings in the area.

Walker. Right on Leech Lake. About 40 miles south of Bemidji.
I didn't know anyone here knew of Minnesota's existance. Not literally.. But I was surprised to see the low amount of Minnesota photographers here. Unless they are hiding from me. |
