I entered this shot into the Bad challenge and to be honest it did better than I thought it would! But, I think alot of my problem is I don't know how to bring the best out of an image in B&W :o( So, I am posting my entry and a colour version of it in the hope that you folks maybe able to show me what I could have produced if I only I knew what I was doing!!
Here you go....
Go easy on me!! As well as being useless at editing this is only my 2nd ever attempt at a self portrait! :o)

Neat Image, High pass sharpening, Contrast mask and local contrast adjustment. Just a little with each. |

Thanks Erick! :o) I like what you've done here. The more I look the more I think I prefer the colour version as it keeps more detail in the nebuliser tubing etc

Hey Phil, thanks for having a go! You have managed to retain some great detail in your B/W, I really need to learn the best way to convert because I seem to lose so much when I try it!!
Your off the wall one is actually quite intriguing, I like the effect the editing has had on the mask and tubing but not on my eye! :o)
Thanks for your time :o)

Nuh uh...
I sent them, several in fact, and even sent a couple follow-up emails with no reply, but I think that may have been just shortly before you went into the hospital and didn't follow-up on it.
I had some file corruption issues on my computer and had to do a data recovery, and in the process lost a number of pics I didn't have backed up. I just did a search of all 3 hard drives for IMG_6614 and had no results. Feel free to send the CR2 file again and I'll be happy to re-edit it.
I do still have this one that was in my workshop, or if you had any of the full-sized ones,
you could send them back for tweaks if needed, but a fresh start would probably be better:

Hey Brad! I think you could be right!I am sure I remember an email before I went into hospital but then everything has become a blur lol!! You are a star for the work you put into it for me! I have the files on an external hard drive, I will send them over to you tomorrow!! It's 1.30am here and I am about to head to bed! Send me a PM with your email address again if you get chance! :o)
Thanks again Brad, I appreciate all the time you have spent on this for me :o)

You've had some good edits already that should have been legal edits for
the challenge, so here's one that's not "quite" legal:
