I've not done this course, but I have studied with the OU. Generally good quality, though you have to be firmly self-motivated and prepared to put in the hours in order to do well.

Yep, I've done a BSc with the OU and some other things.

My wife and I are actually going to be signing up for this ourselves. You are always told not to do a course in ts first year as there can sometimes be teething troubles. Still, I've done modules before without too much bother.

We're really looking forward to it.

See you there perhaps? :)

Also looks like good value if you don't already have Elements, as you get provided with a copy :D

Don't underestimate the OU, that's my advice - They've moved on considerably from the cheesy 70s BBC programmes. Make sure you can allow enough hours in your schedule to do the work.

In my experience (although I've not done this photography module) the tutors and course material are top notch.

OU is unique and great quality. I am a graduate of London University and knew some of the teachers a while back.

I am a Canadian living in BELGIUM and even *I* have heard rants and raves about Open University. I have never heard a negative thing about it since I first heard about it 5 years ago.

I have done a few courses with the OU although not this particular one. I found it great, because although there is an element of working at your own pace, assignments need to be in on time so that you always have that dealine to work to. I found this useful as otherwise I would not have got anything done. They also have a great online community which you will get access to and you will be able to discuss problems or questions with other people from around the world that are doing the same module at the same time as yourself.

The resources that they send you that go with the course are usually all you need, things like videos, cd-roms, books, charts etc. I would highly recommend the OU to anyone. I hope, if you decide to do the course, that your experience of it is as positive as mine was.

Just to say as well that if I hadn't done the courses I did with the OU I wouldn't of been able to go ahead and do something I have wanted to do for a long time.
