I got a new mobile (cell phone) today. Yea, I know, I just couldn't wait another 6 months for the iPhone. I must say that mobile technology is advancing at an amazing rate. The phone I bought only a year ago looks stone age in comparison to this one. And this was one of the cheapest in the shop!

It's a Sony Ericsson K610i. And to give you some idea of what they've packed in to it;

- MP3 player
- 2Mp camera
- VGA camera for videoconferencing (that's right, two separate lenses)
- 64Mb memory chip + 16Mb built-in
- Speaker (for listening to mp3s, or handsfree speakerphone)
- iPod style headphones + little mic for handsfree
- Bluetooth
- And a lovely screen, which you can flip from portrait to landscape for viewing videos/photos or web-browsing

When it comes to taking photos you can hold the phone in landscape orientation to make it feel more like you're holding a real camera. Even the shutter sits under your right index finger. The photo quality is acceptable for daylight snapshots, although very noisy in low-light (you can buy a plug-in flash module to get around this)

But the thing that impressed me the most was this - after you've taken a photo you can select 'Blog This!', enter some text, and hit 'send'. 30 seconds later the photo and the text is right there on your blogspot webpage! This means that you could be anywhere in the world, and take a photo of anything, and moments later it's on your blog. Okay, okay, I know some of you have probably been doing this sort of thing for years but when you see it in operation it's quite exciting.

I was well impressed. Plus the fact that I wasn't even *expecting* all this technology to play well together.
