Are the large capacity cards a Boon or a Bust? Are we becoming less discerning of what we take going for the machine gun aproach ie shoot heaps and we may get a few good ones, or is it an advantage to really push the bounderies of the subject. I use 512mb which give me 120 shots per card, using them as I do film I typically fill 2 per wedding I find with the smaller card I think more before pushing the shutter check everything same as film .
Maybe I should get a 4gb and just blast away fill er up dont worry I got you plenty tochoose from attitude
Just a thought to set the cat among the pigeons

You mention weddings.
I shoot A LOT when I shoot people. I really like candid photographs, and it is amazing what a third of a second difference can make. Try it, follow your child or someone doing something. The differences in the facial expressions are amazing. One second they can look like they are crying in terror, the very next it might look like elation. Have you ever watched television frame by frame? People make funny faces in between the faces they intend to make. Yes, you can definitely time out some of those instances yourself by learning to anticipate those great shots, but sometimes people blink in that instance, or some other minute detail might be a little bit off. So click away, and you will probably get it right. It isn't necessarily quality OR quantity. How about quantity to ensure quality?

Everyday shooting, I rarely shoot now unless the light is half decent on the subject matter. I do often take three shots in burst mode, and quickly pixel peep to delete two, in an attempt to secure sharp images.
At weddings, there are so many things to photograph, so little time, and quantity is a great luxury to have!

i think the challenge is to bring our photography up to a level where it is quality AND quantity.
